However, one area for improvement is the lack of discussion on aptitude concepts, such as distance, speed, time, and calendar problems etc... While many companies participate in the placement process, most do not provide feedback regarding their hiring decisions.However, not all companies operate this way. I am Koushik from Salem, Tamil Nadu, and I've always been passionate about academics. With a strong academic record from school, I was fortunate to secure admission to one of the top-rated engineering colleges in the country – the College of Engineering Guindy in Chennai, where I completed my BTech in Electrical Engineering.During my college years, I developed a keen interest in digital electronics and programming. I wanted to work in a field that combines hardware and software, which truly excited me. Although my college provided great opportunities in application software and core electrical engineering, I was particularly interested in the embedded systems domain. The electrical jobs available were primarily focused on machinery, but my passion was for software controlling hardware. This led me to make a deliberate decision not to pursue campus placements. Instead, I chose to upskill myself in Embedded Systems. As Picasso famously said, "Art is the elimination of the unnecessary." For me, everything other than Embedded Systems was unnecessary. With that focus in mind, I decided to join Emertxe to further my knowledge and skills.At Emertxe, my experience has been exceptional, with hands-on learning being a key highlight. The project presentation sessions, quality of teaching, and the guidance from mentors in every module were outstanding. I remained committed to my classes and even received a class-level spot award for my efforts. The mentors recognized my dedication and assigned me additional projects beyond the regular coursework. This helped me develop effective time management skills as I balanced regular studies with these extra projects. I also greatly appreciated the motivation we received during weekly meetings, which kept us all driven.In addition to the coursework, I made it a habit to read extensively about embedded systems, referring to various books and websites, and I solved numerous problems on platforms like LeetCode and HackerRank to further sharpen my skills. Working on around 12 projects and writing approximately 15,000 lines of code significantly boosted my confidence and expertise. This hard work was recognized during my Qualcomm interview, where the panel gave positive feedback on my coding skills. The skills and experiences I gained at Emertxe were instrumental in helping me successfully clear the selection process at Qualcomm.I chose Emertxe because of my passion for the embedded domain, and it has been an incredibly rewarding journey. My advice to future students is to do some background research to understand the domain and the range of opportunities it offers.
