Creating an Embedded System would require both programming and domain knowledge. Emertxe’s Online Free Microcontroller Programming Internship will enable you to build an end-to-end application using a PIC based Microcontroller. Designed as a three phased approach, this internship will build required foundations followed by a capstone project to showcase in your resume. With hands-on programming and domain skills this internship will act as  a bridge to launch your career in Embedded Systems and IoT domains.

This Online Free Microcontroller Programming Internship is accredited by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under Electronics Sector Skill Council of India (ESSCI). Upon successfully completing this internship, you will get certification from ESSCI. This can be converted into credit points in your academia as most of the engineering colleges recognize this program.

This internship program is delivered in a virtual learning model so that you can learn it from your home. Added to that, our structured intervention mechanism consisting of self-paced / recorded videos, unlimited doubt clearing sessions, specific feedback on your output and DISHA workshops makes this program a unique offering in the Indian education ecosystem.

Emertxe’s Free Microcontroller Internship for Beginners is divided into three phases. It will consist of online learning, building projects followed by certification mainly aimed at ECE students.

Online Internship Phases

Phase-1: Foundational Learning

The phase-1 will consist of foundational learning where you will be getting immersive hands-on learning in C programming. This will be delivered as 70% practical and 30% theory model thereby making solid foundations in programming. Along with skill building this phase will build a lot of confidence in you thereby you will be able to learn any technology on your own in future. I joined Emertxe almost 10 months ago, and the experience was genuinely great. The mentors began with very rigorous training in C programming for the first four months. There were multiple tests throughout the C programming module, which helped us get accustomed to interview-style questions. The rest of the modules were also taught well, especially Microcontrollers and Linux Internals.I must say that Emertxe makes a sincere effort to keep its word and prepare students for interviews. This is done through mock interviews, resume-building sessions, and by bringing in multiple companies almost every day as part of the placement drives.I come from a Mechanical Engineering background, and I initially thought I would have a hard time landing a job. Professionally I've got 2 years of experience in Automation industry and Core electrical engg domain.Initially I was honestly a bit sceptical of how this Emertxe Embedded Systems course will be. Also prior to joining here I was not well adept in coding. So I decided to go with the online course and I was really amazed with the quality of teaching. I am a 2018 ECE graduate and after graduation I spent few years trying to crack central govt exams. But couldn't crack it. I started coding as a back up plan and eventually I started liking it. Then I got to know about Emertxe, I talked to the councellors and they gave me a very good idea about the course and the career opportunities associated with that. I joined the course by Sep 2024 and completely dedicated myself in completing the course. The mentors where very supportive and whatever doubts or concerns I had, they always cleared it. The assignments, test and projects will help in gaining thorough and will help use eventually in cracking a good company. The support from the placement team was exceptional. Online Internship Structure

Online internship is divided into three phases. Starting with foundational learnings, this unique online program ensures you make maximum gain from your summer internship. As a bonus DISHA workshops are also conducted to ensure you have an impressive resume to showcase. 

Phase-1 (Foundational Learning):

Phase 1 of Virtual Internship Emertxe

The phase-1 will consist of foundational learning where you will be getting immersive hands-on learning programming languages C or Python. This will be delivered as 70% practical and 30% theory model thereby making solid foundations in programming. Along with skill building this phase will build a lot of confidence in you thereby you will be able to learn any technology on your own in the future. You will also get a hands-on exposure to various tools that are required to set up your development environment.

Phase-2 (Project Implementation):

The phase-2 will be project implementation where you will be provided with two projects to work on. These projects are built on industry use-cases which will make you apply all the learning from phase-1. Right from setting up your development environment to making it as a live working you will get end-to-end exposure by working on these projects. This will also   you to SDLC / Agile based development model by following industry standard coding practices.

Phase-3 (Workshops and Certification):

Phase 2 of internship - Emertxe

During the third phase, you will be having live virtual workshops called DISHA. These workshops will cover a series of topic on career building, resume preparation and interview facing skills. After you submit your required project artifacts, the assessment team from Skill India will be performing evaluation. Upon successful clearance you will get certification from Government of India – Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Skill Development through NSDC / ESSCI. This can be converted into academic points as most of the Universities recognize the certification.

Online Internships – How it works? 

Our Online internship program is designed in a systematic manner by keeping college students in mind. Project based learning coupled with foundational learning via online medium makes this program unique. Here is how your flow will look like. 

Virtual Classes:

Mentors will be taking you through live virtual classes by explaining concepts and its real-time use-case demonstration. Interact and build sound understanding of concepts on a daily basis. In case you miss classes self-paced videos are also provided. This will ensure you build on sound fundamentals. 

Structured Interventions

Apply your learnings from Virtual Classes by creating assignments and projects on your own. This will be facilitated by structured online intervention sessions with our mentors which include assignment explainer and its expected output.

Unlimited doubt clearing

This is where the rubber hits the road. When you actually start coding you will get stuck somewhere or get doubt in some place. Use our online learning platform to clarify your doubts from 9 AM to 9 PM with our lab mentors.

Project Requirement Workshop

Once you are done with your foundational learning (phase-1) the project phase kicks-off with mentors explaining project requirements. This workshop will call out project output in terms of code and other artifacts. 

Project Execution

Start working on project coding as per requirements. There will be intermediate check-points where you need to demonstrate partial working to the mentors. The support mechanisms continue to be available whenever you are stuck. 

Project Output Review and Feedback

Mentors will get back with specific feedback on your project  output. This will help you to do retrospection and make continuous improvements. They will also be providing you with overall grades for your online internship program. 

NSDC Certification

The Assessment team from Skill India / NSDC / ESSCI will be conducting the final evaluation. Upon successful clearance you will be getting Government Of India certification from Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Black Boxes are typically used in any transportation system (ex: Airplanes) that are used for analysis post-crash and understand the root cause of accidents. Continuous monitoring and logging of events (ex: over-speeding) is critical for effective usage of black box.

CAN based node communication for Automotive

Project brief A Controller Area Network (CAN bus) is a vehicle bus standard designed to allow Microcontrollers and devices to communicate with each other in applications without a host computer. It is a message-based protocol, designed originally for multiplex electrical wiring within auto-mobiles, but is also used in many other contexts.

The goal of this project is to implement CAN protocol based data exchange between two PIC based boards, which are acting as “nodes”. In this
implementation automotive use-case is assumed by exchanging data like engine
temperature, speed etc that are displayed using LCD panels.

Internship Project FAQ

What type of projects I will be doing?
As a part of the internship you will be given a set of specific projects after completing foundational learning. 

These projects are built based on real-time use cases, which will expose you to various different aspects of Embedded Systems product development in a hands-on, practical manner. Along with technical aspect, you will be implementing the project based on the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework, where you will be getting exposed to requirement analysis, design, coding, code review (by mentors), error handling and testing the project.

Our mentors lay very high stress on following industry-standard coding practices (code indentation, commenting the code, logical correctness, error handling, optimization, ability to handle unspecified requirement etc..) which will make you an industry-standard developer. 
What type of study materials provided?

NSDC and Certification FAQ

What is Emertxe’s NSDC and ESSCI Certification?
The Government of India has launched the initiative called Skill India to upskill youth of this country across various skills. A flagship organization National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is given the charter to implement the mission of skill India. Under NSDC multiple sector skill councils are created (Example being Electronics Sector Skill Council of India (ESSCI)),which is given the mandate to implement Electronics / Embedded specific training programs. Emertxe is an affiliated training partner with NSDC / ESSCI in order to implement online internship programs.
 
This means, after you complete the internship program, certification will be provided by NSDC / ESSCI upon successfully completing the assessment. Certificate will be directly provided by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
What benefit can I get by obtaining NSDC certification?
NSDC certifications are aligned to job roles (Example – Embedded Software Engineer / Embedded Product Developer) are based on a specific job description rather than a broader curriculum based approach. By getting qualified for a specific job, you are demonstrating a meritorious output to potential placement companies that you are capable of executing a particular job role in their organization.
 
Government of India is planning to standardize this job roles across the industry in order to ensure there is a common recognition candidates who obtained these certificates (similar to GATE / GRE scores). So NSDC certificate will open up more career and placement possibilities. 
How does the NSDC assessment work?
By the end of internship program NSDC officials will be conducting an assessment. Our team in Emertxe will be completely coordinating this process.
 
On the preparation front, there is no extra preparation required apart from what you have learned during your internship.
 
However you are supposed to refresh subjects so that you can clear the examination easily.
As far as our experience, we have seen most of the students successfully cleared assessment test.
